ADVERTISING CLUB CONCLUDES SESSION WITH A SOCIAL.
The Canterbury Advertising Club held a smoke social last evening to wind up the 1928 session. Mr J. W. Baty, the president, was in the chair. The attendance was not as large as had been anticipated, but in every other way the function was most successful. A short toast list was discussed, interspersed with musical items of unusual merit. The performers were Mrs Doschetti, Messrs John Boschetti and Claude Dunford, in violin selections; Messrs Cyril Avondale, M. Martin and Les Cummins in vocal numbers; Mr C. Heald, concertina selections; and community singing with Mr Cyril Avondale at the piapq. The president, after a brief reyiew of the year’s activities, called upon the members # to co-operate with the executive in making the club a real power in the advancement of Christchurch. The club now goes into its summer vacation, and will resume its activities early in the new year.
