Per Presa Association. WHANGAREI, September 27. Subsequent to a meeting of the Hikurangi Miners’ Union, a delegation interviewed the manager of the mine where the strike occurred. A request for payment for waiting time was declined but permission was granted the men to return to the surface during such periods. On these terms the strike was declared off and hewing operations were resumed at the midnight shift..
