MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
CHRISTCHURCH. (Before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.) A statutory first offender for drunkenness was convicted and fined 10s, in default twenty-tour hours’ imprisonment. John Gilmore, for allowing a chimney to catch lire at his house, 616, Ferry Road, was fined 10s. REMANDED. A youth for whom Mr Burns appeared, charged with obtaining £lO irum the New Zealand Coffee and Spice Co., Ltd., by talteiy representing a cheque to be valid, and charged with the the it of a wireless set va.ued at £OO, the property of Harold Flynn, w-as remanded until August 30. On the application of counsel, the Magistrate agreed to suppress the name until further hearing of the case.
