(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND. August 23. Basketball results this morning were: Wellington beat Taranaki, 40-1. Auckland beat Hawke’s Bay, 31-10. Canterbury beat Southland, 12-9. The scorers were: Canterbury—M U. Prichard (5), I. Poole (4), N. Betts (3). Southland—M. Wright (8), Murdoch (1). The afternoon draw is:—Otago v. Taranaki, Auckland v. Canterbury, Wellington v. Hawkess Bay; Southland a bye.
