NEEDY FAMILIES RECEIVE HELP AT RELIEF DEPOTS.

Although there has been a fallingoff in the number of callers at the Central Relief Depot in Bedford Row, necessitous cases are still being brought under the notice of the ladies engaged in the work of relieving distress. It is found that many people who are in dire distress will not ask for help until they cannot possibly hold out any longer, and the need for the depots is still great. No cash donations were received today, but a number of other generous gifts were sent in, and in response to a special appeal three bedsteads and three spring mattresses have been given to the depot. Fresh vegetables are always in demand, and the supplies are short of the demands almost every day. Men’s underclothing is also wanted badly.
