The final of the women’s 400 metres swim resulted : Miss K. Miller (New Zealand), 6min 10 4-ssec 1
GAINED DECISION EASILY, AND CUT MISS SHAND’S RECORD
Swimming 14 l-ssec faster than yesterday, Miss Miller brilliantly won the 400 metres final heat. The times indicated the closest race between Miss Miller and Miss Davey, but the Now Zealander was never challenged. The. Australian girl was beaten by twenty yards and had to swim hard to stave Off Miss Laverty, who finished two yards behind, third. Miss Miller reduced Miss Gwitha Shand’s Tailteann record by 28 1-5 sec. —Australian Press Association.
