DRAINAGE BOARD HOLDS MEETING.

The Christchurch Drainage Board met last evening, Mr 11. J. Otley* presiding. There Avere also present— Messrs J. W. Beanland, E. H. S. Hamilton, W. J. Walter, C. S' M’Culiy, C. Hill, W. Large, A. T.-Smith and W. R. Carey-. The pumping station engineer reported that the plant Avas working very satisfactorily, and during the month of July 891,410 tons were pumped to the farm. The quantity pumped during July, 1927, Avas 876,582 tons and 856.673 tons for the corresponding period of 1926. The average depth in the suction tank Avas twel\ T e feet.
