DR BEHOUNEK WRITES END TO HIS STORY.

SAVED ALMOST ALL RECORDS AND MEASUREMENTS

(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) LONDON, August 21. Dr Behounelc, in his final article on the disastrous flight of the Italia, says: “My special apparatus for the Italia consisted of a contrivance for measuring the number of ions and the electrical property of the air, apparatus for measuring radio-activity not hitherto attempted in polar regions, and a laboratory constructed on the bridge of the Citta di Milano which functioned for only a few days. “I saved almost all the records and measurements made. I found the electrometer after the crash and installed it on an ice cake, and an amber cigarette holder rubbed with a piece of felt taken from the motor cover served the purpose of an extra battery. I thereby worked for a week, but after that the shifting ice compelled me to stop. Only General Nobile has the right to speak of the splendid work of Dr Malmgren and Dr Pontrmoli, or to publish the other scientific results of the expedition.”—Australian Press Association.
