CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS DANCE.
A happy little fancy- dress dance was carried out in St Alichael’s Hall last Saturday, the proceeds to be devoted to the Richmond Methodist Sunday School building fund. All the costumes were very good, and the two judges, Mrs Whetter and Airs Keith Hadfieid, had a difficult task. Following were the prizewinners:—Boy’s cheapest dress, George Alorrison; girl’s cheapest dress (wallpaper samples), Aliss Hick ling: boy’s most original (Spring Chicken), Bill Perkins; girl’s most ori. ginal % (Fruit Stall), Joyce Wicks; pret* tiest girl under five, Patricia Kirk; prettiest fancy costume (Turkish Lady), Ena Cross; best poster, boys (Chiver’s Sweets), Val Cowper; best poster, girls (Butterfly Tea), Jean Pease; New Zealand poster, girls < Aulsebrook's Rose Box), Betty Owen; New’ Zealand poster, boys (Nugget Polish Company), Jack Chappie. The sweets guessing competition was won by Airs Hickling.
