NEW ZEALAND TEAM TO PLAY ENGLAND. (Special to the “Star.”) WELLINGTON, August 22. Despite the efforts of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association to bring about the later arrival of the British tenpis team to visit Australia and New Zealand this season, the side will arrive in October. The English Lawn Tennis Association has advised that it cannot postpone the visit for one month, as requested. It is assumed that the team will arrive in Auckland on October 22, and leave for Sydney on November 9. At the end of the month the Council of the N.Z.L.TA.. will decide what steps to take in tlie selection of the New Zealand team. There is a strong possibility that younger players will be given preference, and that the men who will be asked to get into training next month will be D. G. France (Wellington), C. Malfroy (Wellington), N. Wilson (Wellington), I. A. Seay (Canterbury) and C. Angas (Canterbury). A great deal, however, will depend upon the programme which is drawn up, and what players are available. The present idea appears to be to get the players to train under observation in each centre.
