PALMERSTON NORTH RAISES LOCAL LOAN.
Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N., August 21. It was reported at a meeting of the Borough Council last evening that a loan for the erection of a library has been raised locally at 5J per cent free of brokerage. During the past eighteen months, three loans have been raised locally, totalling £39,000, councillors stating that the response showed the confid ence of citizens in the future of the borough.
