BIRTHDAY PARTY.
On Saturday last at their home, CHssold Street, Merivale, Mr and Airs W. T. Langley entertained about thirty-two children in honour of their daughter Olive Veronica’s twelfth, birthday. The children looked charming in their fancy dresses, which, combined with the coloured decorations of the room, made a delightful scene. The afternoon and evening were spent with musical items and games. The tea tables were tast.efully decorated with vases of pink flowers and bowls of violets. The birthday cake, with a large black kewpie in the centre and twelve pink candles, was also artistically decorated. Among those present were:—Misses Esther Ritchie, Olive Langley, Joyce Jennings, Isabel Penman, Betty Wanty, Dulcie Jennings, Joyce Lohrey, Rhondda Wanty, Kathleen Larkham, Jean Drummond, Doreen Kelly, Ngaire Osborne. Marjorie Morgan, Edna Whitelaw, Joan Peak, Doris Morgan, Joan Tonkin, Jean Sinclair, Biddy Newnham, Audrey Jones, April Hargreaves, Stephanie Buckhurst, Nance Jones, Gwen Evans, Freda Lane, Jennette Beatty, Pauleen Kelly, Hilda M’Causland, Joan Kelly, Masters Ronald Ritchie, Edgar Hargreaves and Alex Ritchie.
