RECEPTION TENDERED MR ALFRED O’SHEA.
A reception arranged by Mrs BurnesLoughnan was tendered the visiting singer, Mr Alfred O’Shea, at Ballantyne’s this morning. The Rev Dr Kennedy made a speech of welcome and Mr O’Shea replied. The Mayor was unable to be present, but Mrs Archer was amongst the guests. Those present were:—Lady Clifford, Dr J. Hight and Mrs Hight, Dr T. L. Crooke, Madame Gower Burns, Mr and Mrs A. Bunz, Madame J. Ottlee, Father M’Kenna, Father Cullen, Mr and Mrs B. Rennell, Miss Garvin, Miss Hayward. Miss Tabart. Mrs Fairhurst, Mr and Mrs Hobbs, Miss K. Neave, Mrs J. Deans, Miss L. Harper, Mrs Russell Beals. Miss A. Jennings, Mrs G. Burnes. Miss Ashworth, Mrs Russell, Messrs D. M’Gill, L. Wood and Sydney Williamson.
