A tramway motorman who wrote to the “ Star ” recently condemning the use of a central shelter, said that it was a constant trap for persons who crossed the lines intent on catching a north or south bound tram and ignored trams travelling in an opposite direction. This photograph shows a youth in just such a dangerous position. It also shows how motor-cars are almost forced on to their wrong side and encounter trams-cars head-on at both sides of the Square. (Special “Star 11 photo.)
