CHILDREN’S FANCY DRESS PARTY.
1 On* Tuesday last the Hawarden branch of the Plunket Society held their annual fancy dress party for children. There was a large attendance of young people in a great variety of fancy costumes which were judged by Mrs M. Bethell. The following were prize winners: — Girl—Four years: Colleen Quinlivan (Dutch Girl) 1, Betty Webb (Red Riding Hood) 2. Six years: Joyce Wright (Early Victorian) 1, Moira Wood (Mushroom) 2. Eight years: Agatha Leary (Edmond’s Baking Powder) 1, Dorothy Wood (Welsh Girl) 2. Ten years: Marjorie Wood (Swan Ink) 1, Betty Quinlivan (Noon) 2. Over ten years: Diana Rutherford (Mother Goose) 1, Mary Rutherford (Gipsy) 2, Rosalie Shaw (Pirate Girl) 3. . Boys—Four years: Norman White (Indian) 1, Stuart Wood (Penguin) 2. Six years: Leo Shelly (Boy Blue) 1, Gerald Bryce (Harlequin) 2. Eight years: Rex Baker (Swagger) 1, Clifford Wright (Sir Peter Teazle) 2. Over eight years: Edgar Hargreaves (Indian Chief) 1, Noel Courtenay (Nigger) 2. Most original costume: Francis Ferrier (Join the Wheat Pool). Youngest child: Tom Lance (Chinaman).
