HER CAREER.
She passed examinations with a most prodigious flair. In academic “ Honours Lists ” her name was always there. She sucked up knowledge like a sponge, and won most high renown; she looked a perfect picture in her college cap and gown. She proved beyond all cavil, beauty’s not divorced from brain; that dancing doesn’t always go against the bookworm’s grain. But despite her myriad victories in every social sphere, she made it plain her heart was set upon her own career. Eve proposes. Fate disposes. And this charming highbrow maid learned the truth of that old adage ere her college fees were paid! She fell inlove completely, and she found, as highbrows do, that careers are nowhere in it .when young Cupid gives the cue» H.S.
