MERELY CARRIED OUT HIS DUTY.
DR. TELFORD PREFERS TO IGNORE MAYOR. “ I went along to the meeting to place the true position before the council, and I prefer to ignore the Mayor’s attitude entirely,” said Dr T. Fletcher Telford, Medical Officer of Health, when asked this morning if he cared to comment on the incident at last night's meeting of the City Council. Dr Telford attended the meeting for the purpose of placing the facts in regard to the incidence of tuberculosis in cattle before the council. After he had finished his remarks, an altercation took place between the Mayor and Dr Telford, in the course of which the Mayor accused Dr Telford of coming to -the meeting as a partisan. Dr Telford then walked out of the Council Chamber.
Dr Telford said that he had merely carried out his duty, and he would have his “ come-back ’’ at the proper time.
