PLUNKET SOCIETY.
A meeting convened by Mrs Garland, president of the Woolston branch of the Plunket Society, was held recently at the residence of Mrs Hansen, Opawa, with the object of forming a branch of the Christchurch Plunket Society in Opawa. There were present:—Mes dames Cracroft Wilson (president of the Christchurch Society), Garland. Hansen, J. Hawkins, G. Lucas, C. Holmes, B. Irwin, J. A. Tait, Munro, J. Stuart, C. Taylor, Kane, Worsfold, R. Williams, Wood, Copeland, H. Garland, Willis and Cox and Miss G. Thomson. Mrs Garland occupied the chair and introduced Mrs Cracroft Wilson, who gave a very interesting address upon the aims and objects of the Plunket work, after which it was decided to form a branch of the society in Opawa, and the following office, bearers were elected: —President, Mrs J. D. Hawkins; secretary, Mrs J. A. Tait; treasurer, Mrs G. Lucas; com mittee, Mesdames J. Stuart, B. Irwin, C. Holmes, C. Taylor, Kane and D. B. Morgan, with power to add to the number. The Rev H. Williams kindly granted the use of a room in St Mark's Schoolroom, this offer being much appreciated. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs Cracroft Wilson for her interesting address, and also to Mrs Hansen for the use of her room and for providing a delicious afternoon tea.
