POINCARE ASSURED OF MAJORITY WHEN CHAMBER MEETS.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) PARIS, April 30. The results of all second ballots except two show that M. Poincaire is assured of a substantial majority. Details are:— Republicans 93 Left Republicans 46 Radical Socialists 94 Radicals 47 Republican Socialists 3S Socialists 87 Communists 16 Conservatives 2 The result of the two ballots is that the Republicans gained forty-one seats, the Left Republicans ten, and Radicals twelve, while the Radical Socialists lost twenty, and the Communists lost eleven. MM. Cachin and Doriot are among the elected. M. Painleve, Minister of War, whose seat was in doubt, was reelected.—Australian Press Association —United Service. Later.
