AUSTRALIAN SUGAR GROWERS BENEFIT BY BRITISH BUDGET.
(United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received April 30, 12 noon.) - CANBERRA, April 30. The Assistant-Minister of Trade and Customs states that the Imperial Budget confers an advantage of 30s a ton on Australian sugar. Australian growers will benefit to the extent of £225.000, based on tha annual export of 150,000 tons of sugar. Australian sugar, under the new tariff, will be a parity with sugar from the other Dominions, which is not so refined as the Queensland product.— Australian Press Association.
