GUN CLUB HOLDS CLAY CHAMPIONSHIP.

The Christchurch Gun Club held its club clay pigeon championship match on the club's grounds at Soclfcburn on Saturday, when the Championship Cup and gold medal were competed for. in the championship shoot, twenty-seven shooters faced the trap and good scores were recorded. Mtessrs IT. M. Wright E. Hammond, H. Grennell and R. Arnst shot all their seventeen birds, and in the shoot-off Mr H. Hammond shot all his birds and won the Championship Cup and gold medal, with thirty-four birds, Mr H. Grennell with thirty-three birds being the runner-up, gaining the club's trophy. Mr R. Arnst was placed third, Messrs E. Hammond, H. Grennell, and H. M. Wright divided tlite money for the optional sweep. The following are some of the scores prior to the shoot-off:—Ll. JVT.
