HOCKLEY MAKES NEW MOTOR-CYCLE RECORD.

CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS ON BRIGHTON BEACH.

The final events of the motor-cycling season were staged on Saturday, when the Pioneer Club held its championship meeting at North New Brighton beach. The events, which were originally, set down for January 28, were postponed on account of the roughness of the beach. Conditions on Saturday were favourable in every way, and, coupled with excellent organisation, the meeting was a great success. The spectators were not nearly as numerous as is usual but this was probably due to the cold A new record was established by G. Hockley for the twenty miles event, his time being IGmin 21 3-ssec, as against the previous record of 16min 36 2-ssee, established by L. Monkman on April 9, 1927. L.
