NO SIGN OF FUMES CAUSING KINKEAD FLIGHT DISASTER

Sir Samuel Hoare. in reply to a question. said that Flight-Lieutenant Kinkead since 1927 had had experience with various types of aircraft. He tested his machine the day before he was killed. The Air Ministry had re eeived no evidence that ethyl-petrol fumes had anything to do with the. accident. Asked what was the practical advantage of flying at these high speeds, Sir Samuel Hoare replied that it showed distinct advances in engines and designs of aircraft floats.
