FLAPPER SLAYER GIVEN REPRIEVE.
HUSBAND DENIES SHE DID SHOOTING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. (Received March 22, 9.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, March 21. A Montreal message says that Doris M’Donald. known as Flapper Slaver ” has been reprieved. Her husband, George M'Donald, hangs on Friday at Valleyfield. ; . . . The couple were condemned for the murder of Adelarde Bouchard, a taxi driver, who was shot and robbed while taking them to the international border last July. The death sentence passed on the twenty-year-old girl created intense excitement in the United States and Eastern Canada, and great pressure was brought to bear at common law for clemency for the wife, who was a former New York cabaret dancer. An alleged confession, made public by a Denver (Colorado) detective, that the girl did the actual shooting caused a sensation, but M'Donald repudiated this a few days ago from his death cell. Another man is still wanted for murder.— Aust, and N.Z. Press Assn.
