STRONG TEAM FROM CANTERBURY WILL GO TO TOURNEY.

VARSITY SELECTION IS ANNOUNCED. Three more names have been added to the list of certainties for the athletic team to represent Canterbury College at the New Zealand University tournament, to be held at Wellington at Easter. The final selections are :—G. Morrison (distances), A. H. Candy (middle distances), and R. O. F. King (sprints). The team, numbering eleven, is the strongest team that has represented Canterbury College since the war, and it possesses excellent prospects of winning the shield at Wellington. Representatives have been selected for every event excepting the 440 yards hurdles. With M. Leadbetter, D. W. Bain, E. B. E. Taylor, and G. T. Alley as almost certain title-winners the team will have an excellent lead for the tournament. The final selection is:— 100 yards—M. Leadbetter and R. O. F. King. 220 yards—M. Leadbetter and R. O. F. King. 440 yards—D. W. Bain and A. 11. Candy. 880 yards—D. W. Bain and A. H. Candy. One mile—D. W. Bain and E. B. E. Taylor. Three miles—E. B. E. Taylor and G. Morrison. 120 yards hurdles—G. M’Gregor and A. M. Watkins. High jump—A. M. Watkins. Long jump—A. M. Watkins and R. O. F. King. Shot—G. T. Alley and H. A. Henderson. Hammer —H. A. Henderson and G. T. Alley. Mile walk —E. B. M’Kenzie. Relay—M. Leadbetter, R. O. F. King, A. 11. Candy and D. W. Bain.
