PRISONERS CUT ’PHONE WIRES.
ESCAPED SAMOANS ARE RECAPTURED. (Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, March 7. The day before the arrival of the Dunedin and Diomede at Apia, on February 21, five prisoners escaped from the Government gaol. They cut the telephone wires after breaking out and made for the bush. The Mau police took up the chase and had the escapees back in prison next morning.
