NATIVE CHIEF IN BRILLIANT FORM.

A RECORD MILE AT ADDINGTON. Native Chief was responsible for an exceptional work out at Addington this morning. He passed the first half mile in sSsee and the second half in lmin 4sec, making 2min 2sec for a mile. This was the fastest mile ever registered at Addington, and the horse pulled up well. The performance will add greatly to the interest in his mile match with Great Bingen, at the Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting next Saturday. After that, it is probable that Native Chief will go north for the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s meeting. lie has been nominated for sprint races there, while he may also be sent against the mile record.
