By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright Auii. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received Tulv 10, 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, July 14. A minor riot occurred on the northern boundary of the International Set-

tlement. A group of Cantonese soldiers tried to force an entry and, when stopped by the police, commenced abusing them. This attracted a crowd of hawkers, coolies and loafers, who stoned the police, the majority of whom were wounded, but not seriously. Reinforcements of police and members of a battalion billeted near by quelled the riot, returning the stonethrowing with a baton charge which dispersed the mob.
