ALTERATIONS TO ROYAL CARRIAGE.
i The saloon railway car which was used by the Duke of York during his ! tour of the South Island is at present | in the Addington Workshops for the purpose of being altered for use as the Ministerial car. The large lounge is being partitioned off at the kitchen end and a two-berth sleeping cabin and a secretary’s office will be provided. There will still be a fairly large lounge at the observation end of the car. When the car is ready for service again, it is expected that the old Ministerial car which has been in use for many years wil Ibe used for othe.r purposes.
