LATE PERSONAL.
VICEREGAL. At the reception given by their Excellencies at Government House, Wellington, last night the Governor-Gene-ral presented to Mr F. W. Furkert, En-gineer-in-Chief and Under-Secretary of the Public Works Department, his badge as a Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George. His Excellency also presented to Lieutenant-Colonel W. S. Austin, D. 5.0., and to Captain R. 11. Nimmo the Colonial Auxiliary Forces’ officers’ decoration, for long and meritorious service in the military forces of New Zealand. Mr Harold Beck returned from Dun edin last evening. The Hon D. Buddo left for Wellington last night to attend the session of Parliament.
