"If this be granted it will be appreciated by the sporting fraternity,’* said the chairman of the Auckland League’s meeting last night when the Soccer authorities applied for the use of Carlaw Park for the fourth Soccer test against Canada, lie continued that as Soccer was a kindred sport worthy of encouragement the concession would do Soccer a good turn and League no harm.
The request was unanimously agreed to. Jn addition to the postponement of senior League games on July 23 the Auckland Rugby Union also decided not 1o play A grade fixtures. The all round arrangement is typical of the harmony existing among the Auckland sporting bodies.
