THE RUGBY GAME. NORTH CANTERBURY V. H U R U N U I. The following- will represent Xorth Canterbury against Hurunui junior team:—C. Griffin, Coleman, Dempster, Dennett, Derbidge, Mann, Croft, Scott, C. Lynsky, Lukey, Ramsay, Voyce, Schmidt, M’lntosh, Roberts; emergencies, B. Hack, Keady, Stringer and Pachnatz. THE LEAGUE GAME. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League Executive was held last evening; present—Messrs Winter Cole (chairman). F. Sheahan, E. E. M’Keon, .T. 31. Coffey, p. Kir ton, E. Cox. W. Smith, E. Jones, W. Main and S. 31. Richardson. The Sydenham club asked permission to send a team to play the Wellington Albion team. Permission was granted, subject to conditions. A communication was received from the Hornby club certifying that E. Mason had fulfilled all his obligations, ind was clear from that club. The Otago Eeague wrote stating that Mr J. H. A. M'Keefey had been appointed secretary of the executive, and that two Dunedin papers, giving all news concerning the code, would be forwarded to the Canterbury union every week. A letter was received from the Town Clerk, stating that the By-laws Committee regretted that it was unable to comply with the League's application for permission to sell tickets in tne streets on the day preceding the benefit match, for the unemployment fund. The reason for refusing permission was that the Rugby Union had been given permission to sell tickets on June 24, the date applied for by the League. The council, however, wished to express its appreciation of the interest in and assistance given the fund by the Eeague. The secretary of the Unemployment Committee, in reply to a letter from the Eeague granting permission for the committee to take up collections at any of the League’s matches, conveyed keen appreciation of the offer, and said that the ladies of the committee had undertaken to arrange the collections. Conditions regarding the Norman Cox Memorial Cup were read and approved. JUNIOR ADVISORY BOARD. The Junior Advisory Board reported that players had been registered for Einwood, Woolston, West Coast and Hornby clubs. The West Coast club protested against the inclusion of a senior member of the Waimairi club in the junior match last Saturday. The game was awarded to the West Coast club. -Messrs Young, Tillyshort and M’Quil2an were appointed selectors for tlie school representatives, and it was decided to ask Air P. Greenlees to act as coach. Templeton club was awarded a match against Sydenham by default. SATURDAY’S MATCHES. Following is the draw for Saturday Senior—Hornby v. Marist B, St“Albans Park (1.30 p.m.). ASSOCIATION GAME. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the Canterbury Football Association Executive was held last night, Air R. English presiding. PreKent were:—Dr J. D. Marks, Alessrs R. B. Walker, F. L. Eastgate, B. O. Priddls, H. Jackson, C. E. Keyes, G. R. Towart, J. S. Jenkinson, 11. Smyth, L. S. Coton, J. Stout and R. B. Bunt (secretary). A letter was sent from the Association condoling with Mr A. Bassett, a member of the committee, on his accident, which necessitated his removal to the Christchurch Hospital. Letters from the Methodist Orphanage, Papanui, the Christchurch District Xursing Association and St Saviour’s Orphanage, acknowledging receipt of donations, were received. The Canterbury Hockey Association wrote asking that representatives of the C.F.A. be sent to a meeting called by the association to consider raising funds by a queen carnival. Alessrs K. English and R. B. Bunt were appointed as the C.F.A. delegates.

The team for the first test against Canada at Dunedin on Saturday, June 25. is as follows: Goal—J. M’Dougall (Canterbury). Backs—G. Anderson (Otago) and E. Al’Girr (Wellington).
