CHEESE. The market is firm. Official quotations are:— English—Finest farmers', ocs to 103 s per cwt. (10Jd to lljd per lb). Canadian—Finest coloured. 100 s to 102 s per cwt <lo|d to lOfd per lh»; white. OSs to 102 n per cwt (10id to lOf.t per lb); other qualities. 04s to 96s per cwt. ((10d to 10id per lb). New Zealand—Coloured, 86s to SSs per cwt (Did to Did per lb); white, 84a to S6s per cwt. (9d to 9fcd per lb): other qualities. 84s per cwt. (9d per lb). Australian—Coloured. 82s to 85s per cwt. (BJd to Did per lb): white, S3s to 84s per cwt. (83d to 9d per lb). CASEIN. Dutch rennet and Argentine lactic, £6S. TALLOW. The spot market is quiet, at lower prices. Present quotations nre:— Mutton—Fine. 36s per cwt.; fair to pood. 34s to 35s per cwt.; dark to dull, 32s to 33s per cwt. Reef—Sweet and or mixed, SSs 6d to 3Ss per cwt.; fair to good. 33s 6d to 35s Cd per cwt.; dark to dull, 31s 6d to 32s 6d per cwt.. Mixed—Fair to Rood. 33s to SJ>s per cwt.; dark to dull, 31s 6d to 32s per (Jut, etc.—27s to 31s 3d per cwt. FRUIT. Apples, per Tainul. arrived satisfactorily and demand is good for all sorts, particularly red. of which Done are available until Port Caroline discharge* next week. Prices are as follow: Statesman, 16s to 20s per case: Newton Pippin, 18s to 20s per case; Pioneer. ]*s per case; Sturmer, 14s to 17s per case. HEMP. The Manila market is quiet. A grad*. .Tune-August shipments, quoted £43, sellers. Sisal market dull and easier, owing to absence of demand. Sales reported of Tanganika. Jutie-Jul.v shipments. Xo. 1. £37 10s. and No. 2 £36 15s. c.i.f. New Zealand market quiet and prices nominally unchanged. Stocks in London on May 31 were 65 tons, against 65 tons for same time last year. WOOL. The Bradford market is quiet. There Is more demand from Germany for low and medium crossbred yarn, ’but the Home demand la still unsatisfactory. Prices for tops are as follow:—64* (merino) warp, 4* per lb; average, 3* lid; 56’s (super half bred), 2s lOd per lb; ftO.s (halfbred), 2s 2i<l per lb; 4*t>, prepared. Is 7id per lb. NOTE—As the New Zealand Dairy Board now- receives from its l.ondoii agency and publishes regularly full information regarding the ruling market prices for dairy produce, such particulars will not in future be embodied in the High Commissioner's weekly cablegram.
