STREET REPAIRS TO BE CARRIED OUT.
COUNCIL AUTHORISES START ON £9OOO WORKS. Authority to put in hand the work Of repairing and improving certain streets was r-ought by the Works Committee at last night’s meeting of the City Council. The total sum involved is £9040. There is provision for the work to be carried out in the current year’s estimates. The streets in which work is to be put in hand are as follows, the cost of the work in x eaeh street being also shown:— £ Waltham Road, construction of 18ft ‘strip in concrete between Shakespeare Road and Moorhouse - Avenue 3100 North Park Road, scarify, and form 20ft (city’s share) .. 1900 Fitzgerald Avenue, re-grade and seal 760 St Asaph Street, patch and tar seal 450 Tuam Street, patch and tar seal 500 Madras Street, patch and tar seal 600 Barbadoes Street, patch, regrade and tar seal 800 Montreal .Street, patch, re-grade and tar seal I( 930 On the suggestion of Councillor D. G. Sullivan, M.P., the item relating to Waltham Road was held over until the estimates were approved. Authority to put the other works in hand was given".
