LOCAL BODIES DO NOT WANT PALMERSTON N. TO CHANGE NAME.
Per Press Association. FOXTON, May 1 All the local bodies throughout the Manawatu electorate and countv have passed resolutions objecting to the proposal by the Palmerston Chamber of Commerce to change the name of Palmerston North to Manawatu. The Manawatu County Council has lodged an objection with the Minister of Internal Affairs.
