NURSES’ CHAPEL.

f Mrs IT. T. J. Thacker presided over a meeting of the Nurses’ Memorial Chapel Committee. Arrangements were made to holcji a “ Flag Day ” on Friday next., street sales of flags being decided on between the hours of 5.30 ; a.m. and 6 p.m. So far £2300 has been raised, leaving £SOO more to be collected, the total amount required being £3OOO. The committee is anxious that the amount may be raised before the laying of the foundation stone by the Duchess of York on the following Tuesday. Stalls were allocated as follows: Post Office, Mesdames 11. T. J. Thacker (British and Foreign Sailors’ Society) and J. C. Holmes (Harbour Lights Club); tram shelter, Mrs G. Hampton Rhodes (Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association) and Miss Muir (matron of the hospital); Ballantyne’s corner, Mrs C. Chilton (Victoria League) : Cook and Ross’s corner, Mrs W. G. Roberts (Mothers’ Union) ; Barnett’s corner, Miss R. Munro; Bank of Australasia, Mrs H. Wyatt (Navy League) ; Beresford corner, Miss M. J. Ilood (Trained Nurses’ Association) ; Barlow’s corner, Mrs J. I. Royds (Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary) ; Bank of New Zealand, Mrs J. Benzie (British and Foreign Sailors’ Society) ; Tattersajl’s corner, Mrs G. Vollcr (Baptist Ladies); Strange’s Corner, Mrs 11. A. Bishop (New Brighton ladies). The headquarters for the day will be the White Star rooms in Cathedral Square.
