A drink of lysol, taken in mistake for a beverage, resulted in the hurried admission to the Auckland Hospital on Saturday of George Fidden. a watersider. Fidden was working on the steamer Colac when a bottle was passed to him and he commenced to drink the contents. The first taste, however, warned him of his mistake. A Narrow Escape. A young yachtsman had a narrow escape from drowning at Surf dale yesterday, beirg rescued by a boats crew from the steamer Waipu after being i over an hour in the water clinging to an upturned dinghy.
