RELIEF LOANS TO BE OFFERED TO FLOOD SUFFERERS.
RATE OF INTEREST WILL - BE FIVE PER CENT.
The Hon D. Buddo, M.P., has received the following reply to a message sent regarding relief to settlers who suffered loss in the recent flooding of the Waimakariri River;— “With reference to my telegram of the Bth inst., in the above-mentioned subject, I have to inform you that the State Advances Department is being authorised to grant loans to settlers who suffered loss by the flood, such loans to be granted at 5 per cent interest, and on the best security available, with repayment and terms to be arranged by the State Advances Department.” The telegram to Mr Buddo was signed by the Hon W. Nosworthy, for the Minister of Finance.
