BOYS’ ASSOCIATION START SIXTH ROUND.
The sixth round of matches in the Canterbury Boys' Cricket Association's competition were played last Saturday. Most of the games took place at Hospital Corner. Three were played at St Bede's College and two at Ensor's Road. On the whole the wickets wore in very fair condition, although in one or two instances they proved rather humpy. The dismal weather conditions made the afternoon far from ideal for cricket and the majority of the matches were finished early. The results were as follows: FIFTH GRADE. Playing- at Boys' Association ground, Hospital Cornei*. Technical College A. IoS for six wickets declared, defeated Boys’ High School B, 54 and 30, by an innings and 74 runs. St Andrew'* College won by default from Lin wood. At Hospital Corner, Technical College C, 96 and 10S for four wickets declared, defeated Marist Brothers, 58 and 1 *5, by 130 runs. At the St Bede’s College ground, Northeote, Riccarton, 128 for one wicket declared, defeated St Bede’s College. 4i, by 85 runs on the first innings. At Corner. Boys* High School A, 94, defeated Boys’ High School C, 25 and 39, by an innings and 30 runs. Technical College B had the bye. SIXTH GRADE. Playing at the St Bede’s College ground. Northeote. West Christchurch District High School, 158 for four wickets declared, defeated St Bede’s College. 95, by 6.1 runs on the first innings. M. Gray scored 105 for West Christchurch District High School. At Hospital Corner, Lin wood, 116, defeated Boys' High School A. 63 and 26 for three wickets, by 53 runs on the first innings. At the Technical College ground, Ensor’s Road. Technical College. 167. defeated Rlecar\on, 39 and 126, by an innings and two rune. Boys’ High School B won by default from Cathedral Grammar School. At Hospital Cornel', Marist Brothers, 103, defeated St Andrew’s College, 77, by 26 runs on the first innings. SEVENTH GRADE. Playing at the Technical College ground, Enjor's Road. Technical College, 105 for five wickets declared, defee ted Boys’ High School B, 20 and 74, by an innings and eleven runs. Linwood won by default from Cathedral Grammar School. At Hospital Corner., Marist Brothers, 90 for four wickets declared, defeated St Andrew’s College, 26 and 22, by an innings and 42 runs. At the St Bede’s College ground, Xortheote. Bovs’ High School A, 57 and 4 for no wickets, defeated St Bede’s College. 31 and 26, by ten wickets. FRIENDLY MATCH. At Hospital Comer, Scott Brothers, 130 (Johnstone 63, Gray 21) defeated Post Office, 56 (Cavanagh 17 not out, Patterson 14). by 74 runs on the first innings. Gregory and Milne bowled best for the winners.
