A preliminary announcement appears in the “ Star ” advertising columns to-day of the Christmas Fair to be held during next week at the Colombo Street Baptist Church. “ It’s not much use our having Royal visits if we can’t have another extra day's racing in connection with them,” said Mr T. Bloodworth, speaking m satirical vein at the Auckland City Council meeting on Thursday nigur- “ Lest there should be any misapprehension on the part of anyone, let it be known that we want another day of racing. It is the sport of kings, and it is only right that we have another extra day.”
