ASSEMBLY CONGRATULATED BY THE LABOUR PARTY.
Per Pres 3 Association. WELLINGTON, November 29. The national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party passed a resolution at its last meeting congratulating the Presbyterian General Assembly on its decision to work for the abolition of compulsory military training. The importance of cultivating a peace psychology on the principles of the founder of the Christian church could not be too strongly urged, and no field for work in this direction had more possibilities of producing good fruit than the youth of the Dominion. In conveying the message to the clerk of the Assembty, the national secretary of the Labour Party assured-him that any efforts they might make for the abolition of systems that breed the military spirit, or that might advance the universal peace movement, would be heartily supported by the New Zealand Labour Party.
