TEST MATCH IS PROPOSED.

WILL N.Z. PLAY SOUTH AUSTRALIA AT WELLINGTON? (Special to the “Star”) WELLINGTON, November 2? The news that a South Australian * cricket team is to visit New Zealand this season is particularly pleasing to the Wellington Cricket Association, as it will give that body the opportunity of seeing one of its most notable products, Clarrie Grimmett, in action for the first time, since he left Wellington to win his way to a place in the Australian Eleven. More than that, the visit of the South Australians will provide a timelv test for New Zealand's cricketers before they leave on the tour to England. In this connection the Wellington Association is hopeful of staging one of the biggest attractions in the history of Dominion cricket—a test between the New Zealand representatives and the South Australians. The matter may receive consideration at Monday evening's meeting of th-* Management Committee, and. if so. the New Zealand Council will no doubt be requested to endeavour to arrange the itinerary of the South Australians in such a way as to have the visitors in Wellington shortly before the departure of the New Zealand team for England. According to present arrangements, the New Zealand team will leave Wellington on Tuesday, March 29, for San Francisco. It is expected that the team will play a match in Welltrtgton before lea ring, and now that the South Australians are coming it is thought that a great chance is offering for a final test. New Zealand v. South Australia, at Wellington, on Friday, Saturday and Mondav, March 25, 2f» and 28.
