MINISTERIAL. The lion W. Downie Stewart, actingPrime Minister, will leave Dunedin for Wellington this morning. The Hon C. E. Statham arrived ix: Christchurch by’ the ferry’ boat from Wellington this morning. The Hon H. L. Michel, M.L.C., was a passenger to Christchurch from Wellington yesterday morning. Captain L. Macintosh Ellis, Director of Forestry', is staying at the Clarendon Hotel. At the meeting of the Heathcote County Council last night a motion of sympathy was passed with the widow and family of the late Mr Walter Hill. Mr Percy L. Davies, a well-known elocutionist, w’ill leave for the north to-day' to act as manager for the Notariello Concert Company'. The Deputy' Directer-General of Health, Dr Watt, left yesterday* for Melbourne to represent the Dominion at a conference of health authorities representing countries bordering on the Pacific, relative to the transmission of diseases between the countries. Dr Watt will report to the Government on his return. The death occurred to-day' at Christ church of Mr 11. J. Beadel, of Paparoa Street, Papanui. A retired farmer, Mr Beadel was well known in North Canterbury. He suffered a stroke during race week, and had been in a very poor state of health ever since. Mr Beadel leaves two sons and two daughters, one married.
