DUNEDIN HAS VERY HEAVY RAIN STORM.
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, November 26. Heavy rain was experienced in the city this afternoon. The downpour was a phenomenal one and continued for a couple of hours without any apparent let-up. Though no serious damage was reported, considerable incon venience was caused at intersections in the city, where both foot and vehicular traffic was exceptionally heavy with the five o’clock rush. The storm channels w r ere unable to carry away the heavy volume of water that rushed down from the hill streets. The Maori Hill tramline was submerged at one point and covered to a depth of several inches with gravel, with the result that a tram was derailed and considerable delay caused. Towards nightfall the rain ceased, but the weather is still threatening.
