Mrs H. Hay, Timaru, is making a short visit to Christchurch. Mrs E. B. Million, of Rangiora, is staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Sargood and Mr and Mrs P. M. Clarke (Wellington) are among recent arrivals at Warner’s HoteL Mr and Mrs H.- L. Turnbull and Mr and Mrs S. F. Bradford (Auckland), are at the Clarendon Hotel. Miss Mavis Pycroft and Miss Phyllis Mann arrived in Christchurch by the ferry steamer from the north this morning. Mr and Mrs R. B. Beals were passengers to Christchurch by the ferry boat from W ellington this mornnig. Sir Charles and Lady TodLhunter (Mylapore, Madras) will arrive in Christchurch next week to visit Sir Charles Todhunter’s mother, Mrs C. F. Todhunter, Naseby Street, Merivale. Mr and Mrs George Gould and Miss Barbara Gould are returning to New Zealand by the Niagara, due early next month. Mrs Hanmer Atkinson, who came to Christchurch for the Dunelm School sports, returned to North Canterbury to-day. Mr and Mrs Bernard Wood have taken Mrs Vernon’s house in Rolleston Avenue for a few months. Mrs Wood is arriving from Wellington at the end of the month. Paterson, Sefton Street, Timaru, has returned to the south from a short visit to Christchurch. Mrs John Mackenzie, who has been paying a round of visits in South Canterbury, returned to Hanmer on Tuesday. Miss J. Stewart and Miss A. Stewart, Dunedin, who were at the Grosvenor, Timaru, arrived in Christchurch on. Tuesday. Miss Phyllis Smith is spending a few days in Blenheim. Dr and Mrs Hislop, of Geraldine, who have been touring abroad, have returned to their home. Eames, was in the chair, and there was a large attendance of members. After the business was concluded, Mrs Goring gave an interesting address, which was followed by games and competitions.
