N.Z. LEAGUE TEAM BEATS KEIGHLEY.

GAINS VICTORY BY 21 POINTS TO 3. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—-Copyright Aua. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received November 24, 11.30 a.tn.) LONDON, November 23. The New Zealand League team beat Keighley by 21 points to 3. Fielding almost their strongest side, the New Zealand League players completely outplayed Keighley. Although they wece ju the later stages, they started with fine dash and flourish, playing fine football from the first twenty minutes. The forwards, of whom Mouat, Carroll and Singe were the most prominent, scrummaged excellently, giving the halves many chances, and the backs’ passing bordered on brilliancy. Keighley were unable to check the attacks. Sanders, Singe and Davidson secured tries in quick succession, Mouat converting one and kicking a penalty goal. With a lead of 13 to nil, the visitors eased up. Their scrummaging deteriorated and the play became more even. Keighley secured possesion more frequently, but their play lacked finish. In 1907 New Zealand, playing in rain, beat Keighley by 9 points to 7.
