Lady and Miss Ludfnan were passengers by the Maori this morning.
Miss Ethel Le Cren has returned to Timaru from Christchurch.
Mr and Mrs Arthur Grigg are spending a holiday at Hanmer Springs. Dr Jessie Scott returned to Christchurch yesterday from Auckland.
Miss Doris Robinson, who has been spending a holiday in Christchurch, has returned to Invercargill. Miss C. Sloan (Papanui) has been spending the week-end with Mrs Marshall, Berkeley, Upper Riccarton.
Mr and Mrs F. M. Warren and Miss Dora Warren, returned to Christchurch yesterday, after an extended tour abroad.
Guests at the Clarendon Hotel include Mrs M'Lean (Amberley ), Mrs H. W. Hay (Timaru) and Misses Pegden (Palmerston North).
Mrs H. Tasman-Davies, who has been spending a few weeks with her mother, Mrs A. W. Bain, Merivale, left on Monday to join the s.s. Tamaroa, on her return to London.
Mrs W, Whyte, Riccarton, is spending an extended holiday at Hanmer Springs.
Mr and Mrs J. S. Atkinson, of Christchurch, have been staying with relatives in the West Highlands, and will go abroad in December, states an English exchange. An English exchange states that Mr and Mrs J. Allan Oliver, of Christchurch. have returned to London after a tour in Belgium and Holland.
Miss Ailsa Nicol, of Lower Ilutt, who was awarded the Wanganui Competitions Society's open scholarship and of whose possibilities the judge, Mr Harrison Cooke, spoke very highly, is to be among the vocalists at the concert arranged by Mrs Calson in aid of Dr Blackxnores Fresh Air Fund at the Caledonian Hall. Miss Nicol is at present staying in Christchurch in order to continue her studies under Madame Josephine Ottlce. Miss Pauline Dc CrOz, who returned to New Zealand by the Tainui | after an absence of five years in England, is staying with her aunt, Mrs George Buchanan, Fendalton.
Miss Ethne ’Tosswill left last night for a visit to Auckland.
Mr and Mrs P. Deardon are visiting Mrs Roger Gould, The Hermitage, Rotherham.
Miss Alys (Wellington) is at present the guest of Mrs George Helmore, Fendalton.
Captain C. M'Arthur and Miss Mary M’Arthur (Wellington), who have been the guests ,of Mrs Hay, the Vicarage, Hinds, returned home last evening.
Mr and Mrs G. M’Millan, Auckland, who have been spending a few days in Christchur£h, left for the south to* day by car.

Mr and Mrs H. T. Barber, Vancou-; ver, are spending the summer touring New Zealand and Australia. At present they are the guests of Mrs E. Mugford, 82, Simeon Street, Sprey* don.
