WHY NOT CUT IT OUT?
To the Editor. Sir,—What is wrong with the radio sets of "Detector,” "Father of Three” and other* who are howling about the programs broadcasted by 3YA last Sunday? If they objected to the programme, why didn’t they cut it out? There is no law compelling them to listen. They could not have been listening in for a church service as it was after church hours. They remind me of a party of four who sat near me at the Theatre Royal during a performance of "White Cargo.” Their remarks were: "Disgusting!” "Filthy!” "They ought to be kicked out jof the country." etc., but I noticed our shocked friends stayed until the curtain fell and only thought it time to move when the orchestra played “God Save the King.” The programme last Sunday was very good. I hope we get more of the same. Re violin solo, “Hungarian Dance,” can only say “Detector” is a poor judge of music. It was well played for an amateur. Let’s hope next Sunday's programme will be as good as last, and that all' the unco guid like "Detector,” "Father of Three,” etc., will cut out at S o’clock.—l am, etc., ONE OF THE COMMON HERD.
