“SON OF THE SHEIK" NOW AT GRAND.
The United Artists’ production, “The Son of the- Sheik,” is being screened at the Grand Theatre. One of the chief attractions of this film is the fact that the leading role is played by the late Rudolph Valentino, During his comparatively short but meteoric screen career Valentino played many roles, and he played them in. a manner that won for him a host of admirers in every part of the world. It is safe to say, however, that he never appeared to better advantage than*'- he does In “• The Son of the Sheik.” The or rather the characters, with which he is entrusted, for he plays a dual role, give him full scope for the display of those great histrionic powers which made him famous in such a very short time. Before the picture was screened at last night’s session, Mr D. M'Gill sang “That Night in Araby." An excellent programme of supporting films is shown. Two laughable comedies are screened, a Buster Brown picture and a cartoon film dealing with the further adventures of Felix the Cat, and a news film showed happenings of interest in other parts of the world.
