ROBBERS RANSACK HOUSE IN NIGHT.

FURNITURE THIEVES MAKE GET-AWAY WITH LOAD OF FURNITURE. House-breakers ransacked a house in Londsdale New Brighton, recently, stealing a "number of articles of furniture and effecting a getaway that so far has baffled police investigation. The house that was entered is owned by people living in Fen dal ton, who use it during the summer months. From stories told by neighbours it appears hat the robery occurred on the night of Monday, November 7. A woman living next door stated that she was awakened late on the Monday night by lights continually flashing through her bedroom window from the direction of the empty house, but she put it down as passing motor-cars. In the morning, however, out of curiosity she went and had a look at the house and found a window wide open. Further examination showed that the place had been ransacked and several valuable articles of furniture stolen. From the quantity and size of the articles stolen she was of the opinion that the robbers used- a vehicle to carry away their haul. People living on the other side of the house stated that they were not aware that the robbery had occurred until they were informed by the police. It is also stated that the house was entered by thieves a month previously. On that occasion too, furniture was stolen.

The police are carrying out investigations and in the meanwhile a watch is being kept on he house.
